St Johns East Malvern

Saint Jack’s Meals

Saint Jacks provides lunch each week for all who come.

Staffed by Saint John’s volunteers, St Jacks offers a light meal and warm company for anyone and everyone. Around 10-20 people are served each week with soup, sandwiches, cake, fruit, tea and coffee. Breakfast cereals, tea, coffee, jams, and sugar are also provided for the taking.

Once a year in December, a Christmas lunch is served, with turkey, ham, Christmas pudding and ice cream, and hampers provided for the season.

Some who come are satisfied with the food provided. Most enjoy the opportunity to make friends and share the stories of the week. Some need some help with difficulties.

St Jacks relies on donations from parishioners and friends to fund its work. If you would like to support or volunteer at St Jacks, please contact Sally Wallis on 0400 291 340 or send your donation to the parish, cheques marked payable to ‘Saint John’s Anglican Church East Malvern (St Jacks), indicating whether or not you need a receipt.

St Jacks operates every Friday morning from 11.30am to 1.00pm in the Community Hall at the rear of the Church.
