Volunteer in a Serving Community
Saint John’s is a community in which faith and service are nurtured and encouraged. We offer creative programs for youth and families, comprehensive services for those in need, and provide a lively forum for the arts and public conversation.
All aspects of our Parish life are enhanced volunteer contributions. Volunteers bring a wealth of talent, time, and enthusiasm, while gaining a sense of satisfaction from doing something that makes a positive difference in the community.
Volunteers help in a variety of ways, including:
- Welcoming children and families at Bubup Playgroup
- Providing warm company for anyone and everyone at St Jack’s
- Sorting contributions and managing the Opportunity Shop
- Cooking meals for those in need
- Teaching religious education classes
- Singing or performing music
- Helping at the Globe Café program for international students
- Gardening in the Church grounds
- Serving at the altar and preparing the Church for worship
Volunteer opportunities exist for a variety of time commitments. Help is needed on an ongoing weekly or monthly basis, as well as for many once-off projects.
